We've received reports of a situation where an individual is attempting to list and sell vacant land that they do not own. This person has engaged two different agents in listing the same piece of land, with one even managing to secure a contract before it was revealed that the seller was not the legitimate owner. It's essential to exercise caution and thorough research when listing vacant land properties. Refer to these resources provided by the National Association of REALTORS® to educate yourself on how to prevent falling victim to scams like these and always talk to your broker about office procedures.

Don’t forget to fulfill your National Association of REALTORS®' Code of Ethics Training Requirement by Dec. 31st! As required for REALTOR® membership, all REALTORS® must complete at least 2.5 hours of ethics training that meets specific learning objectives and criteria. The current cycle deadline is Dec. 31, 2024.   Meaning you  must have completed an approved* ethics course in 2022, 2023, or 2024 -- head to nar.realtor/code-of-ethics-training to check your status.

Here's some ways to satisfy the requirement:

*Please note:  not all online courses fulfil the requirement, please contact the CBR Office to be sure the course meets the required learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
