August 1, 2024 edition

What's next on the NAR Settlement Timeline?

  1. Discuss with your broker how to respond to compensation requests and how to complete the written buyer agreements.
  2. August 17th is the day all practice changes must be implemented.
  3. Review and share the fact sheets on what practice changes mean for buyers and sellers and ask your broker about how to amend active listing and buyer agreements dated prior to August 17th.  Check out FAQs #52, 53, 71, & 72 for more guidance.

Before going to the polls to vote:

  • Research what the candidates stand for in issues that are important to you;
  • Participate in community debates and candidate gatherings,
  • Weigh your options and choose the people you believe in!

Too busy to do your research?  The Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® Public Policy can help.   Each election year the CBR Public Policy committee helps its members by identifying candidates who are pro-REALTOR®.  The goal is to identify candidates who align with REALTOR® values in home ownership and private property rights.  All candidates are invited to participate in the process.

  • The Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® endorses the following candidates for Senate District #6Eric Johnston, Taft Love, and Darin Smith
  • The Wyoming REALTORS® has endorsed these state candidates through the REALTORS® Political Action Committee.
  • Candidates running for local office (County Commissioner, Mayor, and City Council) were not interviewed by members of the Public Relations committee.  Instead, the committee is distributing to its members the candidates' completed questionnaires. This process allows members to review each candidate's submissions and make individual decisions about who they believe will best represent them.  Click here to view local candidates questionnaires and their campaign message videos.
