On December 15, 2025 the merger between the Cheyenne, North Platte Valley, and Sweetwater County Boards of REALTORS® became official.  As agreed upon, we'll be operating under the name Cheyenne Board of REALTORS® as we explore a new name that more clearly reflects our mission, profession, and future direction. 

 

Let's make it a contest!

We invite you (our members) to participate in this important process by submitting name suggestions for consideration.

 

The Process:

  1. Submission of Name Suggestions:  Members are invited to submit one or more proposed association names by January 20, 2026.

  2. Committee Review: A committee comprised of four Board of Director members (a representative from each county + the Board President-Elect) will review all submissions and select the top five finalist names.

  3. Membership Vote:  The finalist names will be presented to the full membership for an electric vote to determine the new association name.

Submission Guidelines: when proposing a name, please consider the following criteria:

  • Initials and Acronyms – Be mindful of the initials the name creates and how they may be interpreted. 

  • Length and Practical Use – Shorter names are generally more effective for website domains, email addresses, marketing materials, and professional phone greetings.

  • Industry Alignment – Proposed names should clearly reflect the real estate profession and be appropriate for a professional trade association.

  • Inclusion of REALTORS® - the name can include "Board of REALTORS®", "Association of REALTORS®". or "REALTORS®"

  • Uniqueness – Please be mindful not to use the name of an existing real estate company or organization (EX:  there is already a "High Plains Association of REALTORS®" in ND and numerous real estate companies with Cowboy Country in their name).

  • Geographic Flexibility – Allow flexibility should an opportunity arise in the future to add additional associations (try to avoid specific geographic identifiers).

Incentives:

  • $50 will be awarded to each of the five finalist name submissions

  • $250 will be awarded to the name ultimately selected by the membership

How to Submit:

Please submit your name suggestion(s) no later than January 20, 2026.  Members may submit more than one suggestion, but please submit each name on a separate form.

The Professional Development Work Group has started planning education classes for 2026 and would like YOUR input.  A survey was emailed to all REALTOR® members on January 15th with the subject "Education Your Way - Help us Plan! "  If you didn't see that in your inbox, please check your SPAM/JUNK folders, or email cbr@cheyennerealtors.com and we'll re-send.  We value your input!
